Practical on-water sessions over two days on using and driving the club RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) Location: Debdale Water Park Cost: £65 Dates: four/five spaces 15th and 16th of March and four/five spaces 12th and 13th of April Organiser: Dermot If you are interested there is a sign up sheet at the clubhouse. This leads into Royal Yachting Association assessment in Autumn to get a powerboat qualification
Club Lecture – RNLI Date: Monday 7th April 2025 Time: Around 7:45pm Location: Clubhouse Food: Andy’s Curry Nick from the RNLI is very kindly donating his time to give us a talk on rescues involving divers and radio operation at sea — On the first Monday of every month (or second if the first is a bank holiday) we have a lecture night starting around 19:30. It gives members or guests a chance to present a talk on anything sub-aqua related, ranging from underwater archaeology to wildlife to first aid and rescue. Members often volunteer to cook and provide food for these Monday presentations, sold to cover costs.

Arrochar, Loch Long, Scotland Dates: Easter weekend April 17th to April 21st Type of diving: relaxed shore diving in calm Loch Long Cost: accommodation and travel Cylinder fills: air – portable compressor Organiser: Lety We’re off to beautiful Loch Long again for another Easter weekend of shore diving. The trip is also open to people who aren’t looking to dive and just to enjoy the holiday with other clubmembers (most of our trips are) The Arrochar house accommodation is fully booked however there may be room at the Rowantree Bank Bed and Breakfast which has been tried and recommended by clubmembers. There is also a hotel and a campsite walking distance of Arrochar

Club Open Day Date: Saturday 12th of July 2025 Time: From noon Location: Clubhouse The MDG Open Day is a Saturday daytime in the Summer. We’ll advertise this and invite anybody and everybody to join us at the clubhouse for drinks and a BBQ. We bring the boat to the front to really grab some attention
Isle of Man Dates: 26th July – 3rd August Type of diving: Rhib Cost: approx £300 plus accommodation Accommodation: many people will be camping at a campsite. Alternative option of independently researching and booking different accommodation Organiser: Sid Important note 1: multi-faceted trip involving many moving parts. they will all come together to make some brilliant classic UK diving Important note 2: The ferry crossing for vehicles is pricey. People will be placing their scuba gear and tents in Sid’s Landrover and taking the bus once on the Isle — Priority places for those who attended the Powerboat Familiarisation Sessions. If we get a lot of people there may be parallel shore and RHIB diving happening
Bali – Nusa Lembongan and Amed Dates: September 10th to the 24th Type of diving: Bali Cost: Flights, accommodation, scuba diving. ballpark of £1500 altogether Organiser: Lety The club is returning to Bali after a successful trip last year for some warm water diving. Return flights are still in the range of £530-£550 as of writing (08/02/2025). This trip last year was big for photography competition winners The more the merrier, open to non-divers bearing in mind most planned activities will be scuba diving
